Explanation and Sample of 2008 Physician Performance Report
The purpose of the Physician Performance Reports is to advise physicians of the quality measurement work that is underway in California, to share results with physicians, and to begin an information exchange about ways to improve the measurement data and performance.
The 2008 Physician Performance Reports were mailed to physicians during the last two weeks of October 2008. California physicians who participate in the Medicare program and/or contracted with one or more of three participating commercial PPOs during 2007 were eligible to have received a report. Using the 2007 data, approximately 20,000 physicians had a reliable score for at least one of the fifteen measures and received a Physician Performance Report.

The California Physician Performance Initiative clinical quality results were mailed to more than 13,000 California physicians on July 24, 2009.
Corrections provided by September 18, 2009 were applied to correct the quality results before the information was provided to the CPPI participating health plans.
Corrected results were emailed to physicians who provided an email when requesting a patient list. Physicians who submitted corrections by the deadline can request a copy of their corrected scores here.
