Patient Assessment Survey (PAS)—Group
Survey
The Patient Assessment Survey measures patient experience
at the physician group level. The publicly-reported results
are used by physician groups for quality improvement, by consumers
for physician group selection, and by health plans for determining
quality-based payments through the Pay for Performance initiative.
Any California provider group that serves adult commercial
HMO and POS enrollees is eligible to participate in PAS.

Patient Assessment Survey (PAS)—Doctor
Survey
CCHRI also offers groups an opportunity to do physician-level
surveying with the Doctor Survey, using the same survey tool
as that used for the Group Survey. The Doctor Survey results,
which are not publicly reported, enable groups to further
focus their quality improvement work.

After Hours Care Survey
CCHRI also conducts a telephone survey of primary care
physician offices to assess after-hours physician availability
and access to appropriate emergency and urgent care information.
The survey is conducted for fifty primary care office sites
in each participating provider group and results are publicly
reported.
