CAHPS Frequently Asked Questions
1. How are the supplemental questions defined?
The CCHRI CAHPS Project Committee works together to identify California wide opportunities for improvement and determines what additional information would be useful for improvement efforts and support of consumer decision making. Once the Committee agrees on the set of questions, they are submitted to NCQA for review and approval.
2. Do all CCHRI plans have to include the agreed upon supplemental questions in their surveys?
The Project Committee limits the number of supplemental questions so that plans have a majority of the up to 20 supplemental question limit for their specific use. Plans are encouraged to include the CCHRI questions. Based on the Project and Reporting Committees recommendations and approval of the Executive Committee the supplemental questions will be included in CCHRI reports.
