Patient Assessment Survey (PAS)
The Patient Assessment Survey measures patient experience at the physician group level. The publicly-reported results are used by physician groups for quality improvement, by consumers for physician group selection, and by health plans for determining quality-based payments through the Pay for Performance initiative.

The PAS Project Committee provides review and guidance related to the survey and project design, review of the data analysis plan, selection of survey measures, review of findings, and makes PAS recommendations to the CCHRI Executive Committee and IHA Technical Committee.

CCHRI Executive Committee roster
The CCHRI Executive Committee provides strategic project oversight. Executive Committee members represent physician organizations, health plans, purchasers and consumers.

PAS survey results for physician organizations appear in the annual Office of the Patient Advocate (OPA) Quality Report Card. OPA is an independent office in state government charged with informing and educating consumers about their rights and responsibilities as HMO enrollees and publishes an annual Quality of Care Report Card.

California Quality Collaborative (CQC) is a healthcare improvement organization dedicated to advancing the quality and efficiency of patient care in California.
- CSS PAS project
CSS, the PAS project survey vendor, website can be accessed for project status information during the data submission phase of the project.
- Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA)
IHA manages the California Pay for Performance Program. The program rewards participating physician organizations based on their performance on clinical and systemness measures and patient experience determined by the PAS project.
